Janerik is a Swedish journalist, author, and consultant. He has been awarded the Swedish Pulitzer Prize for j journalism and was a Professional Journalism Fellow at Stanford University. He has previously been Deputy CEO of of Kinnevik and the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and played a crucial role in Sweden's entry into the EU.
H He is a former board member of Timbro, a pro-market think tank. Since the fall of 2010, he is a senior consultant a at Prime PR and works as an advisor to Free Enterprise Foundation. He has published more than 20 books, most o of them on political, social and economics topics. Today he is also a regular contributor to the op-ed pages of S Svenska Dagbladet

The secrets of SRQ
Have you ever wondered where those airport doors marked “NO ENTRY” or “STAFF ONLY” lead and what goes on behind them? Well, here’s your chance to find out. On Tuesday, March 15, the Club arranged a customized tour of Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. Our host is SRQ's CEO Fredrick Piccolo, gave us a personal presentation and answer any and all questions we had. This event started at 2 PM and run for two hours followed by gathering at the Dewar’s restaurant in the terminal.

On February 24 SACS was honored to welcome Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman, as guest speaker at the first speaker luncheon for our 2022 series. Both members and friends were treated to a delicious lunch while listening to Sheriff Hoffman’s interesting and informative presentation at Sarasota Yacht Club.
We had also been honored to feature Sheriff Hoffman as our inaugural guest for our podcast in 2020, which became our most popular and much appreciated by our viewers. (You can still access the podcast on the Club’s website.)

Our First Annual Golf Championship was a great success with much thanks to 32 happy golfers and generous sponsors who made it all happen. It was a beautiful sunny day filled with great fun and fierce competition.

On Tuesday, March 3, the Swedish American Club of Sarasota hosted a tasting of new wines from the Southern Hemisphere. We were expertly guided through the exploration by the knowledgeable staff at Total Wine. (Some nibble bits of cheese was also be served.) 32 members enjoyed wines from New Zealand, Australia, Argentina and Chile.

WHAT A KICK-OFF: SOLD OUT AT ASOLO!

The first event signed the Swedish American Club of Sarasota was in every way the success we had hoped for. On January 31, after a buzzing cocktail reception, world-class artists Robert Wells, Anders Berglund, and Maria Wells—with surprise guests, singer-songwriter Billy Dean and banjo legend Dan Wilkinson—gave us a rocking performance at the Historic Asolo Theater at the Ringling. We would all have loved to stay for never-ending encores. What a way to kick-off the new year, the new decade, and the reborn club!
